I had one of those days
Sometimes, you may have the sort of day where everything that has irritated or frustrated you for awhile seems to pile up on you in that one moment. A day when you are fine, until you are not. On any other day, you might be able to let things roll and move on, but today that just is not going to work.
On days like these, I have found the best way to handle them is to find a quiet spot (which is not always an easy thing to do in my house) and write down everything. By that, I mean write down all the things that you have done for others, either because you had to or because you wanted to and it was still a chore. Write about all the small, but necessary, time-consuming tasks that on that particular day felt tougher than they usually do. Write about the big annoying things that happened at work, the mess you found when you got home, or menial tasks that were just harder than normal. The more frustrations you put into print, I have found, the easier it is to let it all go and start over the next day.
What follows is what I wrote at the end of that day. I am sharing it for two reasons. First, so that I can move on and let this particularly bad day go. I have recognized that if I don’t write it all down, it tends to stay with me into a second or third…
