In several parts of this article, my brain did a double-take, thinking this was something from my life. There are lots of similarities in our timelines- I lived in North Carolina, and then worked (contract) for Arthur Andersen in Houston. I also have a second-semester 8th grade son who doesn’t fit the mold of the standard Texas public school student, and I am currently exploring options for his high school career beyond public school.

And so I applaud you and am excited for your new adventure. Our stories diverge in that I am married to a man I love who has kids and cant leave Texas. So, I wont be launching myself and son into a brilliant interstate adventure. You are doing a grand thing and I look forward to hearing about the new adventures! Good luck!!
